Bricking up a window / knocking down a cupboard wall

by retrocircles » Sun Jan 18, 2009 10:38 pm

We have a VERY small bathroom, and would be able to use the space better if we bricked up the window.

How would you go about doing this? Is it something you could tackle yourself with good research, or leave to a bricky?

If so, how much (just a ball-park figure) would this set me back?

& secondly, same issue. We have an airing cupboard in the bathroom for a tank boiler, which will soon be removed & modernised. The cupboard will then be useless, so we are looking to knock down the wall between the bathroom and the cupboard, making the bathroom bigger.

With it not being a supporting wall, could we tackle this? Or again, leave to a builder? If so, ball-park figure?

Thanks in advance!

if ur not to handy urself id leave it up to a brikkie to do it. he'll do a better job and probably save u money. bricking up a window would cost less than a hundred but u'd need to finish of the inside aswell so depending on the internal finish ud need to add that add aswell. prob overall id say less than 350. im a joiner by the way!
hope it helps
