Blockwork removal

I am just about to embark on the removal of a section (floor to ceiling) of a blockwork wall in order to install a recessed shower cubicle. The job has been assessed by a competant professional, who concluded that there are no issues with the planned work and that I can do it myself.

The only question which remains is what is the best method by which to cut this section out of the wall without the use of expensive kit, any comments gratefully received.

moselinf,
If the wall is aerated concrete and you have some old wood saws around use these to cut through the wall. If the wall is breeze block or similar the cleanest way is to use a club hammer and bolster.
