No Air Bricks

Have recently moved into a new house built in 2006. Noticed that it does not have any air bricks. Have some plastic inserts in the brickwork under the level of the DPC, are these an alternative?. Have looked at all the other houses on the estate and they are the same with no air bricks. It could be that it is a concrete floor direct onto the earth rather than wooden joists that I do not know. Can anyone advise?. Thanks.

Air bricks and under floor ventilation are old technology.
The current move is towards controlled mechanical ventilation.
With air bricks the amount of ventilation is subject to the strength of the wind blowing at the time.
When you most need it..there is no wind.
You probably have a solid concrete floor.
Modern solid floors are warmer.
