Dude! You shouldn't build block walls off an upstairs timber floor!
Even lightweight 'celcon' type blocks will crack up because of the flex in an ordinary floor.
Stand in the middle of your bedroom floor and jump up and down once......ornaments stopped rattling yet?
Stud walls dont have to be cr*p. If you want something that is solid, consider double plasterboarding and sound insulation quilt. You can even get a 'blue' sound insulating plasterboard.
Stud walls also allow fitting pipework much easier.
If you really must have block walls you will need a steel beam in between the joists and build off that. Or if it is at 90 degrees the steel could be just above the floor, built into the walls.
Either way, this kind of work is straying into building regs and possibly PP.
Hope that helps
