Mortar Droppings and Damp Caused by Breach in DPC

Hi
Bit of advice please! We are having a problem with rising damp which I believe is being caused by the DPC being breached. In the survey we had done when we bout the house it said it is possible that this may be being caused by mortar droppings. Does anyone know how we would check if this is the case, and if they need to be "swept" how this is done? Assume it is not a DIY job? Is it very disruptive?
Many thanks all.

you can hire an inspection camera, drill into the cavity and check if there is bridging happening.
If it is then a section of wall will have to be removed and the wall ties cleaned.
