As the title says, penetrating cracks in nearly a meter thick wall, the cracks are vertical and have been there a long time, the socle of the half basement is rough granite boulders, above is brickwork which diminishes at each floor, there are two and half floors above the socle. The building has tie rods in the walls which are probably around 200 years old and would appear to be failing. The cracks are nearly entirely within the brickwork with a little travel into the granite base, they extend to the roof line, one travels by the window reveals one is a couple of meters away in the solid brickwork. The one in the brickwork has a maximum gap of about 6 mm, the one at the window reveals is wider at up to about two cm. Inside the cracks are much narrower but I guess this is due to the plaster stretching a little over time?
What would you recommend to fix these cracks?

if the cracks are not showing any signs of further movement, then you could just fill them with expanding foam and point over the top with sand and cement
