Damp Porch Wall That is Single Skin

Hi,
I have a small porch with a single skin brick wall, I have hung coats against this wall and now I have discovered they are all mouldy. I'm guessing that the bricks are damp and this is what has caused the mould. I'd really like to be able to use the porch for year round storage. Is there anything I can apply to the brickwork to stop this happening in the future? There is no heating in the porch and apart from this one wall it is constructed of UPVC and glass. Any advice greatly received.
