Wet Insulation in Cavity Wall of new Extension

I am having an extension built and yesterday the brickie laid a few metres of cavity wall 1200mm high with rockwool insulation in the middle (I call it rockwool).
They finished for the day and it has been torrentially raining ever since so the insulation is now soaked.
This doesn't seem very clever to me, should they have covered it up?
