Benching Against External Brick Wall to Side of Property

I have a paved area to the side of my house that I hose and wash down quite regularly, a very wet area. Am I safe to put a sloping 4" wedge of mortar/concrete against the wall of the house such that water runs away from the wall? The top of the slope is 1 brick below the DPC, thank you.
