Atic partition wall issue

Any advice on the best way to fix this gap between old and new brickwork in the attic of a house I am in the process of buying?
Any idea how much it might cost to get done professionally or if it is doable as a DIY project for a novice?
Would this be concerning enough to abandon this as a purchase?
