Hi,
Go to a local builders yard and ask for 'brick cleaning acid'. Follow the instructions and you will be sorted

Brick cleaning acid is an expensive form of Hydrocloric acid, but be careful with it, have plenty of water standing by to neutralise if it is going too far, and do it slowly. Paint brush rather than tooth brush, and wear protective clothing and goggles.
