can anyone recommend a brand a paint for exterior painting of a house. Also does it need to be sealed first and then painted and how many coats of paint?
thanks very much

rose,
Sandtex used to come out top when Which were testing masonry paints but they seem to have stopped these tests. Read the instructions supplied with whatever paint you choose and don't stint on preparation.

Both Sandtex or Weathershield are good but I recommend Sandtex. Coats no can vary. If you want same color as previous then you will need less but if you want other color then no. of coats will increase. some other variables:
*Painting dark over light
*Painting light over dark
