Garden Flooding Down one Side and Installing drainage??

by dalejg » Thu Mar 10, 2016 10:28 pm

Over the winter our garden has flooded quite abit down one side.

As you can see there is a drop from the woods onto the back of our garden and it tends to flood by the shed and where the grass meets the patio area.

In the patio just in front of where it floods I have a sewage drain which runs around the house. I was wondering whether I could install french drains in the ground running from the shed to the front of the patio then into the drain. As this is the only way i could get rid of the water.

Or is there another way of getting rid of the water?

the alternative would be to contact the owner of the woodland and see if a ditch could not be cut in the run off area.
