Good afternoon all and thanks for reading this post.

My wife and I live in Dubai and I have just finished building a deck in the back garden. I am now wondering what the best for of protection will be for a deck in this climate.

It is over 50 deg and 80% hym every day and is situated in direct sunlight.
The deck timber used is hardwood that has been treated though I think it has been on the store shelf for a number of years and need a new coat.

What would you guys reccomend?

Thanks

Brad

For the best results when applying a hardwood timber decking oil I would recommend an OWATROL product called "TROPITECH", this product has been developed for use in high foot traffic areas and also harsh environments, hot and humid environments.

I would apply Deckstrip first, this is by Owatrol, this will provide a deep clense of your deck and remove any old treatments and staining.

This should be followed by Net-trol, an oxalic based product, this removes water staining and neutralises the timber, do let it dry - it should take long in Dubai... before applying the finishing oil, tropitech.

Best of Luck
