Decking Balustrade - Shall I Cut Posts Around Perimeter?

Hi everyone, I have gained a lot of good advice from this site over the years, but now I have a question I need help with.
I am planning to build a deck on a sloping site and have calculated the quantity of 100 x100 posts and 150 x50 joists etc. Before I order any timber I have a question about the 100 x100 posts.
Should I cut the posts around the perimeter long enough to fix the balustrade and handrails? i.e. 1100 mm above the decking boards.
Or will it look better if I bolt the balustrade to newel posts bolted to the joists?
I think the first way will be stronger, but may look a bit naff. Any thoughts?
