I had a large koi pond in my garden. I have now broken all the concrete and bricks up and filled the hole with it. On front half of the hole i want to lay decking, but worried that if I put a footing in the broken concrete it is likely to move. I am looking for ideas on what to do to make Base safe for footings. The back is going to be a mixture of grass and slate.

I would use concrete pads, basically lay a concrete slab 450mm x 450mm on a mix of sand and cement, then cut some 4x4 timber posts and use them as legs fixed to your timer frame, you can adjust the legs to the desired height
