Hi everybody!
We live in a 1930's 3 bedroom house. We installed loft insulation last year and since then we have expirenced lot of condensation in the loft. Even the rafters have mould.
We have the water tank in the loft. We put four vents but the problem this year is very bad.
I have read that people has reduced the amount of insulation ijn the loft to control the condensation. Any ideas please!!!
Thanks for your time

Hi

If getting condensation in loft is that after installing insulation you have probably sealed off any gaps that existed before.

If the insulation has been laid in between ceiling joists, then you will have to cross layer over joists this will limit heat loss through gaps and maintain thermal break between heated and un heated part.

Ventilation to a roof is generally quite a lot under current rules, normal to need 5mm continuous free air at high level and anywhere between 10mm - 25mm at low level depending on pitch of roof.
