Hi,

I have a 30's house and have been told by a plumber that my water tank is a mixture of concrete/asbestos and not to touch it unless necessary. I do not have the funds to have it professionally replaced, and whilst I am in the loft quite regularly I don't touch the tank. However I have heard that there is a paint or sealant that can be applied, painted on?, to seal the surface. Can anyone recommend one as B&Q gave me a blank look when I asked?

I would suggest that you leave well alone. do not disturb it or attempt to seal it. It should be perfectly safe in it's present condition, just get it replaced when funds permit.
