Layout Help Needed With Edwardian Round Room

by heggoo » Sat Dec 22, 2018 11:56 pm

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone on this forum might be able to help with some layout woes i'm having.

I've just bought my first flat (hooray!) and it's needs some love and attention by could be lovely. One of the amazing features I love about it is a gorgeous round window area in the living room which has 5 windows. It attaches onto a square part of the living room. As much as I love it, I'm really struggling with what to do with it.

The current tenant in the property has put his TV and sofa in it, I don't think this is the best use of space but am really struggling to work out where I'd put my sofa and tv and what I would use this for. I was thinking potentially a dining area with a small round table and a couple of chairs in the window area, but that still leaves me with the conundrum of where to put a sofa and tv, given the positioning or the radiators and interior doors.

Just wondering whether anyone on here had any bright ideas?

without seeing a photo of the enitre room, i do have one suggestion that you might like.

The wall on the right hand side of the picture that has the 3 long shelves on it, i would probably put my sofa along that wall, and a nice picture/mirror above it, and on the wall opposite that (i think i see a radiator?) i would buy a nice radiator cover and then wall mount the tv above that so that , this way the sofa would be facing the tv and the radiator cover will add a neater looking focal point to that wall and then you could also either make the tv wall OR the wall with the sofa on (the wall that currently had shelves) a feature wall with some nice wallpaper, and a nice rug in front of the sofa and in the area near the window i would put either a small around table with some chairs or have a bench type seat with storage under it built around the window and then a round table in front of that, this may look better then having chairs and wasting space that could be useful for storage.

Good luck
