Hi,
I’ve found some curtains that I love for my dining room however I cannot find any paint colour that goes well with them. I thought of going for a gold colour but looks awful. In my opinion an ivory almost white would work great and maybe one wall, opposite to where the curtains would be, could be painted in dark red same as the colour on the curtains.
Choosing a colour palette is a very personal feeling and what other people may find great may not work for you. I can recommend playing with light and testing what colour works for you. To do that you can use a torch (or a desk lamp) and various coloured cellophane to cast coloured light onto white wall to see how would it look without painting it.
Or trying paint samples but I personally find them too small.

Thank you for the reply. I hadn’t thought of doing it that way, with a feature wall. I was too focussed on trying to match a specific colour like the beige, gold or coppery colour but I’m not getting very far!
