Gas Leak From Flooring Installation but who Pays for This Please?

by babs12 » Tue Nov 05, 2019 11:33 am

A good builder has just put in flooring in our new home, with a subsequent gas leak. This seems to have been caused by the force of his nail gun pushing down some old nails on the floorboards (which are under the new flooring) so that the old nails pierced the gas pipe which led to the central heating. Who should legally pay for the subsequent work for this? As stated, the builder did not pierce the pipe with his own nail gun, but the leak has been caused in the process, and as a result of, his work. As stated, he is a good builder and I just want to know who should legally be footing the subsequent bill. Many thanks!
