13amp fused switch to normal 1 gang plug socket?

by MaxwellVolume » Sun Jun 14, 2015 12:24 pm

Can I convert a 13amp fused switch http://i.imgur.com/MtALU0v.png (I believe this used to be for electric heating) to a normal 1 gang plug socket?
Had an electrician over months ago to talk about something else and he tested these. They go on and off with the rest of the plugs so I assume nothing extra is needed?
Only thing that concerns me is that there is currently a fuse there, if I change to a single socket there won't be a fuse...

There will be a fuse in the plug so very likely a straight swap. However assuming is really not good enough I have seen where FCU (fused connection unit) is used on supplies which are not part of the ring final circuit.

I have seen them used for fans on lighting circuits so until investigated you will not know.
