A question regarding 'Reinforced UPVC door panel'

by robbot » Wed Oct 12, 2022 1:40 pm

Hi all, I was due to replace a 28mm door panel today (replace cat flap).

I was advised to buy a 28mm reinforced panel with 4mm MDF sandwiched between two layers of polystyrene. Which I did.

However, when it turned up the 4mm MDF is on the edge between the white plastic and styrene (see pic).

Is this correct, and can I still use it. Also, which side does the MDF face: outside or inside?

Hi robbot,
Yes it's fine, fit the panel with the mdf reinforced side facing outwards for best stability.
