Hi. I am planning on renovating a first floor apartment and would like to add an internal door at the beginning of the hallway to in effect create an inner porch. I would be getting a qualified tradesperson to do this for me but wondered what regulations I need to consider. I've read about the requirement of lintels above doors but wasn't sure if this only applied to a doorway within a wall? I'd be grateful for any advice as this is my first time renovating anywhere!

Hi caz11,
No need fro lintels you will just be installing a stud wall with a door in it. Probably be wise to fit a fire door.
