ADDING AN ADDITIONAL LIGHT IN MY LOFT

by SHARPER1 » Wed Mar 04, 2026 3:15 pm

I already havea pendant lght in my loft bit want to add another as its dark at the far end.

I thought it would be a matter of just takig a feed from the penent wires L/N/E but that doesnt seem to work. The switch in the loft which operates the existing pendant is wired as per the photo. The pendant just has L/N/E and there are no feeds to the loop terminalImage What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do?

Thanks

Steve

Your assumption that you need Live, Neutral and Earth is actually correct, as for what you have done wrong, I have no idea as you have only posted a picture of the switch and its connections.
I suggest two things.
1) Take the supply to the 2nd light from the first light
2) Check your connections. (Have you not stripped the cable enough, are they connections tight, are the screws on the insulation?)
