Adding new radiator

by Paulo83 » Fri Jan 04, 2008 12:44 am

Im looking to add a radiotor to my system. The problem is i cannot get to the distribution manifold without raising laminate flooring etc. Theres 5 rads, sealed combi system,8mm pipe. but to one of the rads its 10mm pipe.

Could i just tee into the f and r of the 10mm pipe rad and connect my new rad like this with 8mm?? Would both radiators work ok?? Ive only been a heating eng for 3 years and lack experience on this sort of thing.

Also, i just fitted a magnaclean and would just like to say i think they are the muts nuts. My water was pure black and i couldnt be bothered draining/flushing etc so i fitted one of these, the crap it has collected already is unbelievable.

I wouldn't even attempt to tee into 10mm pipe, as it wont work effectively.

One radiator probably wont work, or if you're lucky both radiators might get warm. But they will never get hot.

You need to get to the 22mm flow and return and fit 22mm-10mm tee's for the radiators to work correctly. You don't need to get to the manifold, teeing in anywhere in the 22mm will work. Would this be possible ?

Hope this helps
