We have just pulled a very old carpet up, ready to put terra cotta tiles down. The underlay is completely stuck to the concrete, we've got most of it up after weeks of hard labour!....and now there is this gluey film left which will not budge. We have a moisture problem in that area, lots of white powdery stuff, and need to get to the concrete to put a sealant down. Any suggestions as to how to get it off, or can we just go ahead and put the sealant over it, and then the tile mortar?
