I am going to build a stud wall with a door. I have looked at the standard sizes for timber and door liners and am confused. I want the thickness of the wall plus two times plasterboards, to equal the width of the door liner but I can't find a door liner that will do this for me. I have not included the thickness of the skim because it is a temporary structure so I will just finish the board. What am I missing? Am I better off making my own door liner and trimming it to size?

I am confused as well as one side of the door is flush, the other side isn't or else you wouldn't have a door stop.

if you buy a 138mm wide casing, use 100mm wide stud with 12.5mm plasterboard each side, then overboard one side with 9.5mm plasterboard
will give you 4mm of plaster to play with.
Or cut down the casing to suit.

Thanks for the advice. I think I have managed to answer my own question now. I was looking at CLS rather than sawn, which is 89mm. Travis Perkins do CLS specific door liner which is nominally 125mm wide though I think it is actually 119m wide as this is in brackets on the website. If I used 12.5mm board that would give approx 2.5 mm of skim either size but I am not skimming so 15mm boards should allow the architrave to sit perfectly.
