Advice on Blocking up Upstairs Doorway in Brick Wall

by Sim22 » Wed Apr 06, 2016 7:56 am

Just need to check, I have removed the wooden frame, the wall is brick construction, so I should use light breeze block? Metal ties to bond to wall. Do I need to lay anything on floorboards or place mortar straight on before starting the block work?

you will need to remove the floorboard and build on the brickwork below the floor.
Or use 4x2 timbers and build a stud wall to block up the doorway, insulate it and plasterboard

Thanks that's great. I was told to use block work as the best solution, so that's what I will do
