Advice on Covering top of Skirting and Expanding Foam

by Aj7123 » Thu Apr 02, 2020 5:18 pm

Hi,

I am completely new to this so I do apologise if I have posted in the wrong area.

I noticed cracking on the top of a skirting board so I stripped it back and found that the previous owners had done a poor job.

The skirting on one end of the wall approx 2cm away from the wall compared to it being level on the other side

I have filled the gap with expanding foam but I am now stuck as to what I should do to cover the top

I have thought of beading or using filler/caulk.

I have tried to attach photos but the files are too big so any advice based on what I have described will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Alex

Hi aj7123,
With a gap that big whatever you do will be a bodge.
Suggest you use decorators caulk but you will need 2 or 3 goes to beat shrinkage.
