Advice on Decking Frame to run Around House

Hi. Just starting a decking project and need to build the decking frame. Decking will run around the house around 30 m. Do I fix a ledger board and hang the joists off that, or build a stand alone frame running alongside the house? Thanks

Easiest to fix a wall plate to the house and build off that.
