Advice on flow rate to rainfall shower head

by iansime » Wed May 26, 2021 5:35 pm

We are about to purchase a thermostatic mixer shower which will be supplied from a 24kW combi boiler.

I have tested thw flow rate from a cold tap and we get around 7 Litres per minute.

What I can't get a clear answer on from anywhere is how large a rainfall head will this setup support without the shower giving a poor performance (i.e. dribbling, rather than deluge)?

I don't want to get a 200mm rainfall head if I can get a 300mm (or larger) head instead. Equally, I don't want a large rainfall head that juct trickles water out.

Can anybody please advise?

Hi iansime
Suggest you look at the Screwfix web site where flow rates for shower heads are given under the “more info” button.
What will possibly be even more of an issue for you is whether your new boiler will be able to supply hot water at them flow rates you want.
