AEG Gas Hob For Gas Cooker Goes Out Information, help and advice on many gas related subjects from gas fires to domestic appliances

One of the rings on my AEG gas hob has developed a problem -
It only stays alight when the knob is depressed (and the igniter clicks).
as soon as I let go of the knob the flame goes out.
I have cleaned the jet and when it is alight the gas flow looks good and the flame is a good color.

any advice,

Sounds like the thermocouple needs to be replaced, that's the little rod shaped thing at the side of the burner.
For reasons of safety, I cannot advise DIY repairs on a gas appliances though.
