Are vents needed when insulating garage?

by Niko718 » Sun Sep 27, 2020 12:25 pm

Hi

New here and new to diy, apologize in advance if I dont use the correct terms for everything, I ll try my best to put the right words to the right things.

I am putting 100mm celotex insation boards between the horizontal joists in my garage, thus creating a ceiling.

My question is, do I need to dot the boards of air vent to keep some degree of air flowing between the lower space and the above ?

I am not looking into making my garage a leavable area, and the only things that will go above the ceiling for storage are mostly xmas decorations... Just trying to keep the temperature above freezing in winter.

thank you

Hi niko718
It's probably worth installing some form of cross ventilation, facial vents are probably the easiest.
