We moved into our new house a year ago, and when we had the survey done they said that the artex may contain asbestos but that in this form it would not pose a health hazard.
However, the artex is cracked and peeling in places and this was the case when we bought the house and there are some who are telling us we are actively in danger. I spoke to asbestos companies, builders, the council and received completely mixed opinions over whether it was an issue or not.
For the time being we have painted over cracks and peeling areas with silk emulsion to seal the areas.
Can anyone tell me whether we have been in danger over the last year? Will the paint have sealed it effectively?
Really need help as haven't slept in about a week!!
