asbestos cement roof

Post by torhopkins » Sat Sep 08, 2012 4:26 pm

Hi,

looking for some advice please. I recent bought a property which has a detached garage with a corrugated asbestos cement roof. It seems to be in reasonable condition but there appears to be a few small areas which are flaking. To what extent is this a risk/issue. I believe this type of roof is better left 'undisturbed' when in good condition, but the flaking issue concerns me a little. Is it likely to be a hazard or should I just leave it be?

many thanks
TH

Yeah it's dust from asbestos that causes respiratory problems. Generally it's OK if undisturbed.
Don't under any circumstances move it yourself, contact an asbestos specialist.
