Hi. My neighbour has asked me to help install a retractable washing line across the width of her garden. One side is ok as I have a sturdy fence post to attach the clothes line dispenser, the other end for the hook is trickier. The only structure opposite is her neighbours garage which is made of thin, concrete slabs/sheets... thin as in less than a rawl plug deep - I know because I drilled through it thinking it was a solid wall only for her neighbour to tell me I had created a hole in his garage wall (all rectified now).. so then I saw some metal fascia along the top of the garage so tried putting the hook for the line in there, through the fascia into a block of wood I placed behind the fascia .. it worked at the time but now my neighbour is hanging heavy, wet washing on the line its starting to pull the fasica away from the wall. I tried sticking a block of wood to the wall (with is pebble dashed so no smooth surface) with 'extreme grip' instant grab adhesive but that fell down 2 weeks later when the line was loaded. I cant install a post into the ground as she has built in benches and planters the length of the garage. Does anyone have any ideas on options to attach a medium size hook to a wall I cant drill into that will take the weight of a full washing line please? Any help would be gratefully accepted, thanks you.
