Bathroom - chrome vs brushed gold et al

by 1895DressedAs1971 » Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:32 pm

So before my marriage ends, can I request some advice here.

We're redoing a bathroom and he has his heart set on a brushed gold finish for the taps et al. This is all very well, but:

I can't find a low level WC that has anything but chrome
I can't find a tap suitable for a vanity basin which is traditional looking and would match the rest
where does one get brushed gold wastes from or doesn't it matter?
Would it look weird to have brushed gold and then a chrome waste or a chrome loo connector or a chrome/brass towel rail??

Save my marriage! Do we go brushed gold or stick with a safe chrome? Thanks! We're putting it into a traditional bathroom with either racing green or a deep plum pannelling, to give an idea of the backdrop.

Thanks!

Hi 1895dressedas1971,
Chrome every time, it clean better and resists water staining. With repeated cleaning gold will wear down to the base metal.
