Bathroom Extractor Fan Replacement due to Condensation Dripping After use

by JackKirbs » Thu Dec 21, 2017 10:40 am

Recently moved into a property where existing bathroom light and combined extractor fan is in place which runs through the loft space and out through the roof, see uploaded images. I believe due to a combination of cold weather, un-insulated ducting and low extraction rate (85m3 probably), when using the shower the condensation is particularly bad. I have been leaving the window open whilst showering however this is not helping much and frequently condensation drops from the fan after use.
Just wondering if it is a straight forward enough electrical wiring job to replace the existing with a new in-line fan and keep the existing ducting? I have seen the Manrose MF100T online, the existing fan switches on when the light is on and is on a short timer I believe. If possible what the rough cost of this would be as well? Thanks to all in advance
