Bathroom extractor fan

by deb7168 » Sun Mar 04, 2007 4:23 pm

I've just bought a replacement extractor fan for the bathroom that should be installed with a double pole switched fused connection unit (3amp) but my original fan was earthed with an isolator switch inside the bathroom. Can the isolator switch be replaced with a fused connection unit or will an electrician have to install a fused connection unit by the fan/light switch outside the bathroom? I don't fancy this second option and am wondering whether it would be better to just go out and buy another extractor fan that needs to be earthed to save all the mess!! Thanks. :?
