Best Paint/Coating for Outdoor Furniture and Shed

by joedonaghy » Thu Mar 26, 2020 2:23 pm

Hi there! I have a shed, bench, table and chairs outside that have been left out unprotected for 2 Winters! The paint has come off mostly and there is some weather damage.

I'm a real newbie to DIY and am learning all kinds since getting my first house. Not sure how to approach this?

Is there a kind of paint I should paint it all with to make it good again? Do I need to remove the paint thats still there? Do I need to sand it down?

I heard about Ronseal or Cuprinol? Should I just buy those and paint it all? I've attached a couple of pics to show you what I'm dealing with

Any advice appreciated, many thanks DIY legends!

Joe

Hi,
Suggest you pressure clean the surfaces you want to paint, then when dry paint with rustins garden paint, a stain will not have the coverage to hide the defects.
