Hi everyone,
I live in Cyprus and have just had double glazing fitted to the house.
Inside the glazed units are louvre blinds which are closed and opened by sliding a magnet up and down the glass.
When the blind is down, with the sun on the glass the glazed unit becomes as hot as a central heating radiator!!!!! All the units act the same, is this normal? When the blinds are up, the glass is still warm to the touch.

Afraid so!
You do not have double glazing in the usual sense and a convection current
forms inside, coupled with radiation that causes the problem.
I solved this problem by having two sets of double glazing with an eight inch gap between. (quadruple glazing)
The inner double glazing has opening windows at each end (my choice)
and we can lift and tilt the slats as required.
We have the perfect result.
The rooms stay between 19 and 23C all year round, with outside temperatures from minus 18C to plus 30C.
