Bricking up a garage door

by lien » Sat Oct 20, 2007 5:32 pm

Hi, some years ago i had a double attached garage built on the side of my house. I had it built with a cavity wall and insulated floor in preperation for turning into accomodation at a later date.

My question is this; if i wanted to brick up the doors myself ( I have done a bricklaying course at college on a one day per week for twelve months ). what do i have to do, how do i do, the damp course in the door way?

first you may need planning permision second you may need something to build off ie.. foundation..then the damp course should be linked into the original damp course of the garage by cutting the out the damp course joint back 100mm ..4 inches so it laps one another ok
