cable in trunking

by puttyinyahand » Thu Nov 13, 2008 12:54 am

I know guys that any wiring/ works under taken in the kitchen is governed under the part P regs..... but could you please enlighten me as to the following question?
Would it be acceptable to run cables in the wall (Ring) horizontally from socket to socket, and then vertically down again chased into the wall above the worktop but then surfacing into trunking below to save big chases?.
Is running cables in trunking in the kitchen allowed, and is it ok to surface cables below worktops if protected in trunking?
Thanks again for any help

Not problems.
Cables can be surface however the wires within cables must never be seen not that I would install a length of twin and earth without trunking but if in area where it is unlikely to be damaged then it is within the rules.
As to horizontally that is part of permitted zones. See http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i62/R ... ezones.jpg which should help.
