My husband unwrapped a new car battery and left it on the worktop with nothing underneath. It had a clear greasy feeling substance on it and has left white marks on the dark grey laminate worktop - I think it’s actually eaten through the top layer of the laminate as it’s not a substance that can be cleaned off. Is there anything that can be done to fix this like a stain or something to colour the plastic? Any advice appreciated - thank you!
