A few weeks ago my neighbour was having his roof renewed. During this time the ceiling in my bathroom was split from the top of the wall (the roofers told me it was when they lifted 'beams' in the attic space above and they would 'try' and push it back. Nothing was done but my neighbour assured me he would get it fixed. He is now saying that it can be 'repaired' by filling the gap, which is about half an inch wide around approx a six foot length of ceiling and then painting over it. I'm no expert but this sounds like a bit of a bodge job to me. Is this really how a problem like this should be repaired?
