my daughter is trying to fit a ceiling light it turns on but will not switch off any help woul be much appreciated thanks

What cables are coming from ceiling?
General rules are all reds(live) connected together in loop on ceiling rose or terminal block if not.
Neutral Black to blue flex side of light
Black switch wire (should have a red tag on or sleeve) to brown flex side of light.
All earths(cpc) to earth terminal.
