Change of NAME

Post by TRDR66 » Mon May 21, 2007 10:09 pm

Hi,
I am planning to buy a house on a street where all the houses are individually named. Hence there are no numbers. In this situation, can I/we change the name of the house to a name of our liking rather than 'Dalmatia' which we are not a huge fan of.

You just write to the cheif executive of the local council and tell them the new name.

Your house will have a "postal door number" on the electorial register and/or the council tax register. So you also need to tell them of the new name, that you are going to use

You also need to tell the post office "postcode" unit. Check out the local yellow pages for their details.

You do not need anyones permission.... just dont try to use a "unacceptable" word...
