CLEANING VICTORIAN BRICKWORKK

by eileenobrien » Sun Jul 08, 2012 2:04 pm

I have had the front of my house cleaned last week - I'm now starting to worry about how it was cleaned. The builder used a masonry acid cleaner and then jet washed - then used an electric sander and hand sanded.

- this the usual method? as I have some odd sort of patterns going on - on the actual brickwork.

any advice appreciated.

Acid wash and jet washed is fine, never seen or used sander on brickwork??it will take the glaze of the brick.I suggest painting/spraying the wall with a silicone solution
