COMBI BOILER FIRES UP THEN SHUTS DOWN

by CHESTER » Sat Jan 15, 2011 2:51 pm

HI ALL, I HAVE A MAIN COMBI 30HE.......THE PROMLEM WITH THE BOILER IS THAT WHEN THERE IS A DEMAND FOR CONSTANT HEATING THE BOILER FIRES UP AND THE TEMP' 30deg' NEON LIGHT COMES ON, THEN WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES OF THE BOILER RUNNING, THE TEMP' RISES TO MAX 80 deg', ONLY THREE RADIATORS GET HOT AND THEN THE BOILER SHUTS DOWN .AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES THE BOILER FIRES UP AND THE PROCESS STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN. A FRIEND OF MINE SUGGESTED IT WAS THE PUMP..!!!
CAN ANYONE OUT THERE ENLIGHTEN ME PLEASE . :(

The rapid increase in temperature means the flow through the heating feed pipes is non existent.

This could be a faulty pump but probably not if the hot water is working.

Other possibilities are, airlock, physical blockage or a valve turned off.

hi There,
I have had similar problems to you for the past 7 months.
I have had 4 "Engineers" out ALL stating different causes.

New Pump....still shuts off..
New Divertor Valve......same...
New Thermister...same.............NIGHTMARE..
Boiler shutting down after 15 secs..then fires up then shuts off...cools down...fires up....shuts off....CONTSANT LOOP....

Then i noticed that on the hot feed to rads"T fiiting"..1 leg was warm other 2 legs was HOT.

I dismantled "T fiiting" and could see the problem..IT WAS SOLID!!! I had to clear the fitting with a screwdriver...

It seems that the water was not being pumped around system.

"Why didnt any of the 4 so called "CENTRAL HEATING ENGINEERS/MUPPETS...pick this up.

Also flushed the system myself at the same time(After being quoted £1200 from Blitish Gas!!!

Now 100% "Toasty Warm"...TOO HOT NOW...IMOA..lol...

PS (Im in the wrong job...)..If anyone wants there system "Power Flushed"...CALL ME !!!!Ha Ha...
